Free Returns On All Orders
NOTE: YOU MUST NOTIFY US BEFORE RETURNING YOUR ORDER TO AVOID ISSUES WITH REFUNDING.
We accept returns or exchanges when items are:

Returned within 28 days of delivery

Unworn (beyond trying on indoors)

In the same condition as received

Returned with proof of purchase

Returned with any original tags, swing tags, or packaging if they were included with the order (many vintage items won’t have these)
Because Archive No.9 sells vintage/pre-owned and reworked clothing, natural signs of age or wear may be present and will be reflected in the listing’s condition grade and photos.
Vintage / Pre-owned condition notes
Every item is checked and described as accurately as possible, but vintage garments can have characteristics that aren’t “faults”, such as:

Gentle fading, softening, minor pulls

Minor signs of previous wear
-
Variation in sizing between eras/brands
These are considered part of the garment’s nature and are not treated as defects if clearly consistent with the product description and images.
Reworked items
Reworked items are garments that have been altered, repaired, customised, or reconstructed. This may include:

Replaced trims/hardware
-
Repairs or reinforcement stitching
-
Tailoring adjustments
-
Paneling/patchwork
Any notable rework details will be stated on the product page.
Items we can’t accept for return (hygiene & safety)
We can’t accept returns on:

Underwear
-
Swimwear (unless hygiene seal is intact, if applicable)

Socks/hosiery
-
Earrings and pierced jewellery

Face coverings
-
Gift cards
Important: Condition checks (returns must be resale-ready)
Please return items in the same condition you received them. If an item is returned:

Worn beyond try-on
-
Washed or cleaned
-
Altered after delivery
-
With new damage (tears, stains, pulls) not present when sold

With odours (smoke, perfume, deodorant, cooking smells)
-
Missing included tags/packaging (where provided)
Then we may:

Refuse the return and send the item back to you

Issue a reduced refund to reflect loss in value

If the item is not suitable for resale, be unable to issue a refund
Fit, sizing & measurements
Vintage sizing varies by brand and era, so we provide measurements and a recommended fit on listings wherever possible.

Returns are accepted for fit, but please check measurements carefully before ordering.

Items returned with signs of wear beyond try-on may be refused or refunded at a reduced amount.
If your item is faulty, damaged, or not as described
If your order arrives damaged or you believe it is not as described, contact us within 48 hours of delivery and include photos of:

The issue (close-up and wider view)

The item
-
Packaging (including the outer mailer/box)
If confirmed, we’ll cover appropriate return costs and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Authenticity concerns
If you have concerns about authenticity, contact us within 48 hours of delivery before wearing the item, with clear photos and an explanation of the concern.
We may request the item back for assessment. If an item is confirmed not authentic, you’ll receive a full refund (including original delivery where applicable).

Refunds
Once received and approved, we aim to process refunds within 2 working days.

Refunds go to the original payment method (card, Klarna, Clearpay, PayPal, etc.)

Are delivery charges refunded?

For non-faulty returns, delivery charges are not refundable

If an item is confirmed faulty or not as described, we’ll refund delivery where required under your statutory rights
Cancelling an order
Contact us as soon as possible.

If your order hasn’t been dispatched, we’ll do our best to cancel it.

If it has already shipped, you can return it under the policy above.

We don’t provide free return labels for non-faulty returns.
